About

The NYC Coalition on Aging & Vision (Vision Coalition) represents the leading vision rehabilitation agencies in New York City, all of which have come together to collaboratively address the growing needs of older adults with vision impairment.

The Challenge

NYC Vision Coalition had a small budget and needed a simple site to connect potential patients with vision coalition members across NYC. The site needed built-in logic to route patients based on their response and be completely ADA-compliant.

What we did

In 2013, Whole Whale worked with the department and coalition members to create the web platform and brand.

Web Design

Whole Whale designed and built the mobile responsive vision referral site to support their service partners. The site was designed to help elderly and visually-impaired New Yorkers find resources online and exceeded ADA standards, emphasizing simple navigation, strong color contrast and usability tools like text sizing buttons. We also developed the logo to represent the work of the Vision Coalition members.
