Nick enthusiastically supports the Whole Whale team as a Digital Strategy Manager with a focus on digital advocacy. In this role, Nick is committed to helping nonprofits and social impact organizations expand their impact to drive meaningful and measurable change. In addition to managing multiple projects and client relationships, he contributes broad expertise in web analytics, data visualization, campaign strategy, and the ethical use of emerging technologies like AI. Nick has helped nonprofit and NGO clients build and monitor omni-channel marketing campaigns marketed to both national and international audiences.

Nick has spoken on topics like Digital Organizing at Netroots, Realtime Campaign Monitoring at NTC (Nonprofit Technology Conference), the Ethical Use of AI at the NJ Center for Nonprofits, and has worked with Whole Whale clients like Swing Left, PRX, Donate Life America, the Kaiser Family Foundation, and many more!

Nick earned his B.A. in Political Science with a focus on comparative politics and international development. He became particularly interested in the importance of civil society in aiding social progress. At Whole Whale, Nick emphasizes the role of digital political advocacy in the company’s work and has contributed to projects that include political, legislative, and human rights objectives.

Throughout his undergraduate career, he interned with several different nonprofit organizations where he saw firsthand how successful communication and marketing strategies can increase impact. Prior to Whole Whale, Nick served overseas as an English Teaching Assistant on a State Department-sponsored Fulbright grant, where he taught English to middle and high school students in the rural Czech Republic.

Nick is pursuing a graduate degree in Human Rights Studies at Columbia University where he studies and researches the intersection of technology and human rights. In particular, Nick has earned academic expertise via coursework and research on topics such as social media and human rights, human rights advocacy, human and digital rights in Eastern Europe, and broad expertise in international human rights law (IHRL) and international humanitarian law (IHL).

Additionally, Nick is also a co-instructor at the CUNY Baruch College Austin W. Marxe School Of Public And International Affairs where he teaches PAF9201 class “Mobilizing Digital Communication for the Public Good.” The class explores the practical application of how digital media shapes people, organizations, movements, and democracies (or autocracies), especially in an increasingly complex global social media landscape.

Outside the office, Nick enjoys playing the drums, listening to podcasts on global affairs, and is constantly searching for new great spots to go hiking. Want to connect and talk about nonprofits, NGOs, and/or international human rights? Find me on LinkedIn!
